The 5th graders had the Tiffany's Skating rink in Puyallup rented out for their graduation from Daffodil Valley Elementary Thursday evening, so it's official we now have a Middle Schooler on our hands! They had four huge cakes, one for each of the 5th grade classes and one for the teachers, they had a class picture on the front of each class cake which was a fun touch. Jarom with Layton and Austin doing a skating train.

Jarom with James his good friend from Mr. Lopez's class this year. Jarom got seperated from his group of boys (there had been five of them) that had been together for his 3rd and 4th grade year and had became really close friends and Jarom was the only one that got seperated from the pack in 5th grade. We were kinda bumbed but Jarom had no problem making more friends this year in Mr. Lopez's class along with keeping his old friends. James, is Korean and Jarom learned quite a bit about his culture through out the year. We also brought the neighbor frined Nathan along with us to the rink.
Eating pizza on the run.
Spencer got blades for his b-day this year and has gotten really good at them. Since he's such a small little kid (even though he is six) everyone was so impressed at his skating skills at the rink for being so small. It's nice to go to the rink and to have all of the kids bring their own skates, it certainly pays off in the long run! They skate quite a bit around the neighborhood and enjoy it.
Ellie's friend Ava was there with her 5th grade brother so Ellie was happy! Then ther's Bre.

Each of the classes raced off w/ boys and girls seperate, then they had an ultimate race to see who was the fastest overall. Get on your marks...get set.....
Go, and they were off!
Jarom gave it his all and came in second.
Jarom getting his prize, a slurpee at the snack bar. Then there was Josh, who I didn't let skate. He loves to skate but since I was solo (without Matt who was working) for the party, if he fell or was hurt I couldn't run out to save him since I had to take care of Brooke, so he was content to play video games the whole time.

Cake Time.
Jarom ended up getting the "Best Smile" award, voted by his peers. He got a tooth brush, paste and a bowling gift card, pretty cool! At the graduation ceremony, Jarom got a special "Leadership" award and an "Achademic" award for passing all three parts of the WASL (although they changed the name of the test this year to MSP I believe) We are very pleased with our boy, way to go Jarom we love you and your example and hard work!
