Tacoma Dome Car Show

MILD TO WILD
HOT RODS & HOT RIDES & WORLD OF MOTORCYCLES
Tacoma Dome April 26, 2008
This was one of Matts favorite paint jobs, only because as a auto body painter he can appreciate the "candy paint" job the truck has since he knows that it's not easy to apply.
The car show wasn't nearly as crowded as we had expected, I'm sure the beautiful SUNSHINE we had on Saturday was to thank for that. We did however manage to get the lawn mowed and the car vacuumed out before the car show which was a good thing!
The kids all chose their favorite cars and motorcycles. Jarom of course was attracted to all of the skulls on the motorcycles.Matt even ran into a restoration that he did some paint work on over in Cd'A Idaho, it's a small world. The girls adored the pretty in PINK cars!Spencer got a kick out of all of the bass that this car had along w/ the built in threatre & surround sound it had. (The kids were able to watch part of the Ice Age movie.)
It took the kids a long while to be able to drag their dad over to the face painting booth (dad felt the need to stop & talk to everyone he ran into for a half an hour or so... the kids got a bit impatient at times, but they were troopers and hung in there.) A souvenir vendor lady gave the kids these bubbles to blow which kept them a bit occupied as dad chatted here & there only the bubbles were made of a strange content and wouldn't pop too easily but they would get stuck on their heads and then leave this glue film after wards. We had to put a stop to them when the bubbles kept on landing on the show cars, wouldn't want to make any proud restoration owners upset about their paint jobs. Anyways, after we made it to the paint-lady they were happy w/ their new colorful faces, cheese! We took a drive into Enumclaw after the car show to look at some property.
This is Josh on Sunday after church, Ellie hooked him up all comfy in his swing (that he grew out of months ago...they still like to play w/ it as you can see!) Josh got to go to nursery at church today, they took him a few weeks early. He's just a few weeks shy of 18 months. Matt stayed in w/ him the first hour but Josh was happy to do it by himself when Matt went to his class for the last part of church, what a big boy! I guess he did pretty good, he just needs to work on sharing a tad Matt says & I guess he got a bit upset when they had to put the toys away in the toy bin, he'll learn. It was actually cute this morning as he picked up a piece of trash off the floor & put it in the garbage can it sounded as if he was singing the clean up song, in his own language of course but it was cute....oh my goodness my baby's growing up!

Choo Choo

Watch out TRAIN CROSSING!
Thursday April 24, 2008This is pretty typical, I should always plan on leaving myself a few extra minutes when I go into town since this set of RR tracks is a totally popular set & trains are crossing it all of the time! We see those set of wooden RR crossing road blockers & flashing red lights at least a few times a week, the kids love the trains!
After Jaroms Cub Scout Pack meeting up at the church, we headed out to Black Diamond. Matt had a meeting at his parents house. The Sunset was GORGEOUS! Josh is really into this whole hugging thing these days (but only to little kids that he feels are babies, funny enough most of the little ones are bigger than him but in his eyes they are little.) At pack meeting, he was chasing this other little boy around the gym trying to give him a hug, the other boy was not amused & once Josh caught him to give him a hug the other boy just started crying....Josh was a bit confused. He again found another little buddy his cousin Pieper at grandmas house to give a hug to, this time the whole hug thing went over a bit more accepting.

Weeding

Weeding through the Clothes
April 24, 2008Yesterday I finally cleaned out all of Joshs 12 mo. clothes (sadly, some even 9 mo. clothes) out of his drawers. We weeded through the old and brought in the new (well...hand me downs that would be.) His drawers were in such disarray I couldn't stand it any more! Now, they are so organized it's GREAT! As I brought in all of the 18 mo. clothes, seriously it feels like Spencer just grew out of them yesterday. These are the famous cowboy boots that now all of our boys will get a chance to wear. I believe Grandma Jackson gave them to Jarom on his 1st b-day. It took Josh a few to get the hang of walking in them but he soon caught on! As we were weeding, we found this cute Santa hat that went w/ Josh Christmas jammies last year. Josh wanted to wear it and literally won't take it off, he just loves the silly thing. The funny thing about it is that just last month I couldn't get him to keep a hat on his head for NOTHING.

Silly Kid!

Joshs new thing is climbing, yes we knew it was inevitable but the time just came too soon! He is constantly inside or on top of everything, tables, chairs and cupboards alike. I try not to make a big deal about things when say I find him standing on top of the kitchen table or counter- tops, in hopes that this phase will soon get old in his eyes.

Pictures Have Arrived!

Oops, looks like I spelled the little guys name wrong earlier (look in a earlier post for his stats) here he is...
David Eithen KinseyI would say as fresh out of the oven as it gets! A bit graphic, not for the squeamish.
All Bundled up as snug as a bug in a rug!Oh so tiny, look how big the passafire looks in his itty bitty baby mouth!
Oh, a close up...too cute! There we go, Davids eyes are open!
Congrats again Leah & Charlie, he's a keeper!

Going Green

HAPPY EARTH DAY!
April 22nd, 2008
We decided to go to the park while the two older kids were at school this morning, to get our Earth Day fill in. The kids had fun on a nature walk. They found these big seeds (kind of like a large a-cornish seed dropped from the trees at the park.) They brought them home and planted them in the front yard, I guess now I should be happy that we haven't started in on the Spring yard work for the year huh? They had fun making a mess of the bark. Anyways, I have no clue if they'll grow or not...we'll just have to wait and see.
Digging in the dirt w/ sticks. There was the coolest tree that had a big hole in the bottom where I'm sure some sort of living creatures had made their home in, the hole went back so far & around the tree trunk we couldn't see the end.

Peter the rabbit's a GIRL?!

HOME SWEET HOME MR.
(or should we say) MRS. PETER THE RABBIT
Shortly after we moved here to Sumner last November, we found the perfect home for Peter our rabbit. One of Bres' friends who lives back behind our home has a huge farm with quite a vast variety of animals & pets, she was happy to add Peter to their animal friend collection. Last week she informed BreAnna that our Peter the rabbit was PREGNANT! Guess that wouldn't make Peter a boy rabbit...but Mama Peter! Today when Bre & Spencer went over there to play Bre took the camera with her. Here's Peter and her new bunny boyfriend along with a few other animal frineds on their farm, can't wait to see the baby bunnies! 4/21/08 The Love-Bunnies.

Wow a real Digger!

Spencer & a "REAL" Digger Tractor They are doing construction down from our home building you guessed it... more Industral Buildings and Spencer has had his eye on this DIGGER for a few weeks. He loves to play with his tractors but this was a real one, WOW.
Today as we drove to church since it was Sunday he saw it sitting there without any workers. After church we went over so he could see it up close and personal. Too cool in Spencers eyes!
That's a big piece of machinery!

Pine Wood Derby Districts

South Hill Mall, Puyallup Wa
Saturday April 19, 2008
Jarom went to the districts championships with his pine wood derby "Bonecrusher" car. It was a long day for the boys, they got there around 12pm and didn't get out until after 5:00pm. His car did great! He came in first place in all three of his races (there was six lanes on the track,) only they went by the best time of all of the total racers that raced, which was around 160 cars. After two races his time made it through the first round into the top 25 finals, then they raced one more race from there and came in 12th over all.
Jarom & Spencer before the races.
Race #1
You can kind of tell from the expression on Jaroms face he's happy!
Race #2Another First!
Race #3
This is why we kind of stay away from any action pictures with our trusty camera, yeh...we usually miss any action. Oh well, another first!

Good Job Jarom & Bonecrusher, and I guess we can't forget Dad!
