Church Prom 2022 For Spencer

May 2022

Matt and I crashed Spencer's Church Prom with Braylei. They ported in Seattle at Pier 56 I believe it was, they had a great time dancing the evening away as the sun set on the Sound. They said that they actually started the dance party on the dance floor since no one was dancing. The truth behind the "crash" is the fact that Seattle has just gotten so bad in the last little bit, it isn't a place I really want my kids late at night...pretty sketchy in that area. So we made a date night out of it and took them to the Metropolitan Grill for a good steak dinner then after the Boat Dance, we did the Seattle Ferris Wheel. We made the wheel ride just in time before the 11 pm closing so it was really pretty and such a nice evening to enjoy the view. Matt and I luckily purchased the tickets while the kids were on the boat so it worked out perfect! We also got some ice cream, walked the Pier at Sunset and went to check out an old time fav The Ole Curiosity Shop in Seattle. A little funny to add to the evening..Braylei had planned to surprise Spencer by getting a new pair of matching Air Jordan Nike shoes to wear to Prom (Spencers fav shoe...he no joke has got every color they make...kinda an addiction but that's another story.) So she had talked to Brooklynne to make sure that Spencer wore his Black and White Jordan's to prom earlier in the week, well turned out- Brooke was off with a friend when Spencer left for prom but he actually had on his green Jordan's as he left the house but then goes..."Mom, what should I do, this green on my shoes doesn't exactly match the color of my tie and I'm not even sure either will match the color of her dress since she only told me it was Hunter Green and I don't want to look all mis-matched?" So I said, just put on some nice black church shoes. I told him that he wore Jordan's last time to school prom anyways, that it will be fine. Well, boy were they both surprised when Spencer went to pick her up and he didn't have his Jordan's on...but she did! He was very irritated for a fat minute (we were running late so we had no time to go back into Graham to switch out shoes since she lives in Orting.) Just a lack of communication, Spencer was mad at Brooke for not making it clearer to him that he actually physically needed to wear the shoes because apparently she did have a conversation to him about it after Braylei had talked to her but Spencer told Brooke that he could do and wear what he wanted...Braylei really should have talked to me to make certain of the memo. Or Brooklynne should have told me at least so I could have made certain he wore them...would have, could have, should have. I think Spencer was just a lil put off that Braylei got all the compliments on her shoes that night instead of him, too funny!!! All was well that ended well though, a fun night indeed!

Vegas/St George Trip...Take Two with The Parents and Tucks

May 2022
Matt and I took a trip back to Las Vegas and St George with his parents and Steph and Brodie Tuck. The trip was basically Matt's attempt to convince his family to move over that direction. Although after circling the airport parking garage over and over then waiting in the TSA line for over an hour for our flight out (it was so unreal and nothing like I had ever seen...not even over the Holidays) we finally had to do the Clear fast check in process, we were flying Alaska which meant we had to literally run through the airport up and down escalators, catching the tram...after getting through security. Matt didn't even have time to put on his belt so he was running and holding his pants up trying to put on his belt in the process (quite comical and I'm sure a sight to see...it totally felt like Home Alone- no joke). We and another couple were in the same predicament (apparently the cruise lines had ported in Seattle so everyone was headed home or something to that effect?) Anyways, after a rocky start we caught our flight with exactly 2 minutes to departure take-off time and it turned out to be a very nice and safe trip, we did quite a bit of driving around and site seeing showing Matt's fam the area and surroundings then looking for homes in the process. At Pawn Stars in Las Vegas, we found a ring that looked so similar to my original wedding ring (only it was Platinum not Gold as the other one that went missing a few years back) and since this year is our 25th wedding anniversary- we couldn't leave it sitting fingerless in the display cabinet so we got it sized that same day and brought it home with us.
