There's no Time like Summer Time!

June and July 2016
Headed off to Girls Camp they go!
Bre wasn't in this group picture because the YCL's left earlier in the morning and forgot to snap a pic of them before they headed out on the road.
Ellie and Bella ready for a fun week of roughing it outdoors.
Before camp, Ellie sent Matt and I to Walmart with a list of last minute camp items for her and Bre. One of Ellie's musts was a bucket hat. We didn't find any in the ladies dept so we went to the guys and found three for her to choose from so dad was the model and we text her the options...
Number three was the lucky bucket hat of choice. Too funny. The girls also wanted fanny-packs to carry around small essentials with them, who would have guessed those would ever be back in? Ha ha.
Adorable Camp in action pics :)
Bre got a bee sting on the bottom of her footsie,
Ellie and her friends taking her bed air mattress down the river at camp.
Bre and her friend Brendan at a M's game. He works for the Mariners so he has connections.
Since we were in Arlington to pick Ellie up from Girls Camp (a day early so she could head off to yet another camp for drill/dance) we stopped off to take a peek at my Great Grandma and Grandpa Ellis (Gram and Cliff's) old home. I loved to go visit their home when I was little. We have such fun memories namely the 4th of July's with the parade and eating Cracker Jacks with the fun prizes found in the bottom of the box and then we would stay the night for Christmas Eve's on occasion and sleep in sleeping bags under the Christmas tree, my favorite Christmas when my mom made me a doll with a week's worth of clothes in a little pink chest that we got to open Christmas morning was here back when I was little. I like to see all of my Gram's fancy hats and sit in Cliff's massage chairs. Their house wasn't kept up as nice as it was in the past but it was fun to take a peek at it with a drive by!
Jarom and his friends Layton, Dashawn and Austin hiking Mt Si in prep for High Adventure.

Ellie did a great job and received two Superior Ribbons one in each of her dances she performed in both kick and pom, she was so happy and did such a good job! The instructor said she had the highest kicks and she had such a nice smile through the entire routine.
Brooklynne and Bre at mini-cheer camp, playing a get to know you game with their group. I helped with check in and there were 70 little cheer campers attending this year!! This couple sat across from us at Brunch, they were so sweet with their parked walkers, and he in his military suit with rose petals on their table. We thought for sure they were celebrating their anniversary when as they were leaving they told their waiter that they had just gotten married the day before...to cute!
His and Her's, aren't we adorable in our helmets? For our anniversary we got ourselves some bikes at our local Sumner Bike Shop and have been enjoying riding the trails here in Sumner. We also got a trailer to tag along on the back for Saydee and she LOVES to take her bike rides, it's so much fun and rewarding for the waistline!

Wrestling Camp
 Jarom
 Spencer
The two older boys Spencer and Jarom attended the SHS Wrestling Camp for a week and participated in a little tournament at the end of the camp clinic. Spencer being 79 lbs and the only 6th grader who attended wrestled 8th graders that weighed 10-20 lbs more than him but he held his own and still gave the guys a run for their money. He didn't win any matches but he learned quite a bit and that's what we were going for. Jarom never got pinned but learned that he really needs to work on his cardio and endurance so he's started running and biking this summer for the coming season.
Josh with his CSI Investigators Cub Day Camp Unit #4 Bears Year.

Brooklynne even got in on the action on Family Day at the end of the week.
Rallying for Flag Ceremony at the end of his 1st Day at Camp.
Saydee finally upgraded car seats out of her baby carrier since she weighs 20 lbs now :) As her nappy shows, she has grown right in to love the comfy new seat and she feels like such a big girl now facing forward...it's less of a fight to buckle her in now which is a simple delight.
A mommy and Brooke Selfie, Brooke loves to take selfies with any willing candidate on her ipod, we were waiting in the car and I had fun looking through all of her funny selfies.
Ellie and Bre with the Young Women of our Ward at our Pre Camp Overnighter and hike at the Terry's Home,
Brooke and her friend Aleni got to tag along for the evening with the older gals.

F O U R T E E N

Ellie is Fourteen!
June 12, 2016
F- Fun loving, she loves to laugh and have a good time.
O- Outrageous, she is over the top with crazy things she says and does in her comfort zone.
U- Underestimated, she may not come off as or seem it but she is actually quite a smart gal.
R- Real, what you see if what you get with Ellie.
T- Teenager, she is a full out teenaged girl.
E- Eager, always up for an adventure and ready to try and learn something new.
E- Even tempered, Ellie is pretty mellow, goes with the flow and doesn't care for public attention.
N- Night Owl, she will often take a nap in the day to stay up the majority of the night.
Ellie's Birthday was on a Sunday this year and since her absolute fav is mashed potatoes, I decided to make a full out Turkey dinner for her b-day...Turkey Dinner in June, it was perfect!
I did a bit of prep the evening before like peeling the potatoes, making the jello and prepping/stuffing the turkey so the bird cooked and rolls raised while we were at church and we came home to a wonderful smelling home and dinner pretty much ready besides a few loose ends, it was great.
Ellie choose to go shopping for her birthday this year so we handed over the cash and she was able to shop in a new wardrobe of her choice and fitting, it was a win/win. She also got highlights in her hair the weekend after her b-day since the week of her bday was a bit tight full of dance recital dress rehearsal and shows.
We generally invite the grandparents to the kids bday dinners but G and G Jackson were in Chelan summerizing their vacation home in prep for the summer months ahead so we had a nice family dinner with the nine of us.
Lighting the 14 candles on her ice cream cake, DQ has been the bday cake place of choice lately in our home. I made a knock off for Matt's bday a few years back and it was really yummy as well but no such time these days when I can just swing by DQ on my way out a pick one up, very much worth it.
Ellie can now go to the Stake Dances at church now that she is 14 and a Mia maid. The next one is in Federal Way and it's a big 5 stake dance that's outside carnival style with hot dogs, cotton candy, popcorn, photo booths, lawn games, volleyball, football, s'mores over fire pits and of course dancing, it should be a lot of fun! Her Mia maid leaders stopped off on her bday to deliver some cookies and her dance kit so that made her excited to go to one.
Dad got in on the action helping to cut the cake. Despite the clothes shopping, a b-day isn't complete with out a few fun gifts to open so Ellie opened a few gifts to find some of her fav snacks and make up items then we had a raffle for a few prizes.
Happy 14th Birthday Ellie Sue, we love you.
Grandma Jackson took Ellie and her cousin Bailee out on their traditional Gma/Grand Daughter shopping date. The two June bday girls typically choose a mathcy match outfit. This year they couldn't convince G-ma to spend money on ripped jeans (the style these days...) so Aunt Kimmie who tagged along with them this year gave in and bought the girls what they wanted, lol. Leave it to Kimmie, the girls love her!

Dance Recital 2016

Shake It Up, Recital June 11th, 2016
Brooklynne and Ellie.
 Dad and his Dancing Girls.
Ellie did a great job tapping her heart out to "Robot Girls."
Brooklynne stole the show in her ballet/jazz combo dance "Call It Whatever."
So proud of these girls, they both did a fantastic job in their dance recital this year! They both did so well they earned some Sonic Drive In after the show which they both enjoyed thoroughly.
Love you two...
