Our Spring Flower is Blossoming

May 3rd, 2015
Saydee Alyssa Five Months
Saydee all dolled up and ready for church Sunday.
Not quite certain which is growing faster these days- the Spring Flowers outside or our Saydee Flower inside! She sure is ever blossoming and blooming each day...
Bre had to bring a baby home for her Child Development class a few weekends ago. She experienced first hand what a mom of a new born gets to go through each day and night waking up with crying and changing diapers, feeding, burping and rocking baby. She was exhausted to say the least... Saydee and Shaniquah hit it off quite well as shown in the pic :)
Saydee and her Jolly Jumper are getting along quite well also :)
Saydee's hair has thinned out and it is getting lighter in color not being so dark these days.
Saydee would rather play with her shoes as toys than wear them these days.
Here was Saydee at 1 month in the same dress...I'd say she fills it out a lot better now at 5 months.

Grandpa Noble and Saydee when Grandma and Grandpa came to visit for Jarom's Eagle Court of Honor.
Saydee enjoying her Entertainer.
This month Saydee has been rolling over more often, playing with toys much more and has became a lot more aware of the people and loved ones that she favors. If daddy walks into the room and doesn't acknowledge her she will let him know and cry until she gets him to pick her up or at least give her some loves and attention. Quite often she will be just fine and content with one of her siblings holding her but if she sees mom she will think that she needs to be saved and rescued, silly girl! Saydee is a snuggle-bug, she will snuggle up next to you and melt right into your arms to rest and be content and happy to do so. She loves her head rubbed...it puts her right into la la zone if she is tired. Saydee likes to be read to and she will sit and listen to stories read by her siblings and mommy. Saydee can be pretty intense, she has a strong grip and is trying to sit up on her own. She is a lot of fun for everyone. Saydee has a doc appt on Thursday so we will find out her 5 mo stats then :) and finish up this post .

We started the ceremony out with a Candle Light Ceremony with the Scout Oath and Law.

A candle represents the Spirit of Scouting, a spirit which burns brightly in the heart of every Scout. Let us renew our Scout Spirit by reminding ourselves the meaning of the Scout Law and Scout Oath.

(The lights are dimmed and the Scout walk down the aisle with a lit candle -we used the battery operated candles for obvious reasons with the scouts in the church gym- to put up front into a holder -we used mini glass star tea candle holders I found at the dollar store that worked out perfect- and then each Scout recites one of the 12 points, we used a flashlight for the Scouts to read their parts in the mic.)

-A Scout is TRUSTWORTHY. A Scout tells the truth. He keeps his promises. Honesty is a part of his code of conduct. People can always depend on him.
-A Scout is LOYAL. A scout is true to his family, friends, Scout leaders, school, nation, and world community.
-A Scout is HELPFUL. A Scout is concerned about other people. He willingly volunteers to help others without expecting payment or reward.
-A Scout is FRIENDLY. A Scout is a friend to all. He is a brother to other scouts. He seeks to understand others. He respects those with ideas and customs that are different from his own.
-A Scout is COURTEOUS. A Scout is polite to everyone regardless of age or position. He knows that good manners make it easier for people to get along together.
-A Scout is KIND. A Scout understands there is strength in being gentle. He treats others as he wants to be treated. He does not harm or kill anything without reason.
-A Scout is OBEDIENT. A Scout follows the rules of his family, school, and troop. He obeys the laws of his community and country. If he thinks these rules and laws are unfair, he tries to have them changed in an orderly manner rather than disobey them.
-A Scout is CHEERFUL. A Scout looks for the bright side of life. He cheerfully does tasks that come his way. He tries to make others happy.
-A Scout is THRIFTY. A Scout works to pay his way and to help others. He saves for the future. He protects and conserves natural resources. He carefully uses time and property.
-A Scout is BRAVE. A Scout can face danger even if he is afraid. He has the courage to stand for what he thinks is right even if others laugh at him or threaten him.
-A Scout is CLEAN. A Scout keeps his body and mind fit and clean. He goes around with those who believe in living by these same ideals. He helps keep his home and community clean.
-A Scout is REVERENT. A Scout is reverent toward God. He is faithful in his religious duties. He respects the beliefs of others.

(The remaining three candles that represent the Scout Oath are lit -or turned on in our case- by one Scout as the Scout Oath is read) In the Scout Oath, the Scout promises upon his honor to do his best to do his duty: first to God and country; second, to others, by helping them at all times; and third, to self, by keeping himself physically strong, mentally awake, and morally straight.
