Fun, Yum & Games before heading back to school

September 8, 2013
Matt took all three boys to the Fathers and Son's camp out at Zion's camp, Josh was in HEAVEN!  He had been super excited to go fishing, they caught like ten fish I hear.  Bishop text me this pic of Josh and Spencer prepping the fish to cook up for dinner.
Ellie, Brooke, cousin Noelle and some of the neighbor girls had fun one day with these life size baby porcelain dolls that I had collected, we found them stored under the stairs in the game room.  They each picked a set and had fun walking the neighborhood, holding and pushing them in strollers acting as if they were real babies, getting reactions from the neighbors.
One evening we took the kids to Menchies, fill-up and top frozen yogurt in Bonney Lake to give it a test run...we will be back, it was a hit all around!

This year, Labor Day weekend wasn't too well planned out. Life had been too preoccupied getting the kids set and ready for back to school then with work, church and the kids activities we literally didn't have a chance to talk it over or discuss the plans until the day before. We ended up deciding to head over to Eastern Washington to get away, still not knowing the details of our events or plans but we didn't care we just wanted to get away even if it just meant a one day road trip...
Matt and Josh really liked these old time cars at a car show going on.
We first toured around Leavenworth, after Jarom's visit with the Scouts...we were itching for a bit of the German scene. It was a HOT day, the kids liked the water-misters that many of the walk-ways and restaurants had outside to stay cool to get relief from the heat.  The bakeries are always one of my favorite places :) We had some pizza and brats with the kids before we hit the town walking around.
After Leavenworth, the Jackson clan was staying at their Chelan home so we found our way over to visit that direction (just an hour away from Leavenworth.) When we first arrived, everyone was just finishing up their day at the River so Jake and his fam were heading back to the lake-home along with Grandpa and Grandma but since our kids were wanting to hit the water, the Tucks decided to stay to play and we relaxed by the River for a few hours. They had fun in the sand and water, Josh had fun catching baby fish with a dixie cup.
That evening, the older kids (adults and Jarom) played cards while the younger ones turned into wild and crazy party animals!!!
Is it clear that these kids love to hang out with their cousins?!
Soon Spencer, Gracie and Brooke were partied out...
But there was no stopping these two, Josh and Jackson!
Since there was no end in sight to the adult card game, we decided to stay over in Chelan for the night...crash where they may, the older girls with their cousin Noelle and I slept in the van.
After the nights sleep, or lack of sleep...we decided to stay another day to enjoy a day at the water park Slide Waters with the Tucks. At first, Matt and I weren't quite certain we'd be able to function being so tired so I wasn't thrilled about taking the kids but since they were adamant about going we gave in.  We were gald we did, we had a great day- we quickly snapped out of the walking-zombie mode from lack of sleep and thoroughly enjoyed the day at the water park with the kids! The saying really is true that your kids keep you young.

 Jarom, Ellie and Bailee
Ellie with the Tucks sisters, Bailee, Naomi and Noelle.
 Brooklynne and Jillian
Brooklynne was happy to see that kitty-land had re-opened, it was closed for a portion of time since a little one had an accident in the water...Josh was fearless at the water park, he tried out all of the slides including the purple haze, I was surprised!  He had a great time.
 Time for ICE CREAM.
 Staying cool...
Enjoying the new lazy river, there is also a nice shallow area that adjoins the lazy river where the little ones can play that resembles the river shore which was nice along with a sand volley ball court. The lazy river was a more relaxing way to enjoy a tube ride vs the thunder rapids and tube blaster where on those slides they at times leave you wondering if you will actually stay on your tube :)
Relaxing in the shade.
Matt and I racing, yep didn't matter who he raced, he won time after time...
Jessica and David's wedding.  My cousin Jessica (Pam my dads sister's daughter) had her wedding out in Ravendale at a pretty ranch this past weekend.
Brooklynne had fun with my phone taking a few snap shots, LaRae my aunt and Doug my cousin then Rod my uncle and Harrison (Ben and Wendy's oldest) then Grandpa Noble on his phone :)
Sitting waiting for the wedding to start and Josh and Brooklynne with the Erickson kids (Brock, Lydia and Nathan on the swing.)
The kids on the swing and my sisTracey and Jon, then Grandpa and Grandma is down the row holding Brooke.  Our whole fam didn't make it due to sick kiddos at home, fall has set in already with the flu bug season~ yucko!
Aunt Pam, then Jessica with both her dad's Dave Huff and James Forsythe. The weather luckily cooperated, the two days before (the first few days of the school year had been rainy, stormy and thunder and lightning.)

High Adventure

August 31, 2013
Getting all packed and loaded up to head over to meet up with his three other teachers and his YM leaders at the church  to head over to Leavenworth, WA for the Scout's high adventure.
An after picture.  Looking a bit sharper than when they left right?!  Apparently the boys did a bit if shopping at the local Leavenworth thrift shop so they would look extra handsome for their homecoming debut...
We got a thumbs up from Jarom after a week away from home.  Happy to be home in the comfort of his own surroundings but a week full of good times...camping, rock climbing, mountain biking, horseback riding, river inter-tubing and a bit of site seeing, he had a good time.  Many stories to share of the boys experience with bees, a broken down car, a cracked cell phone screen (thankfully Jarom left his at home), long mountain bike rides, cuts and bruises, an old horse, a flipped tent full of rain water...safe and sound back to his fam in one piece!...I hear Jarom's young men's leader has many pics of the action so it will be fun to see them.

Can't forget the Veggies...

August 30, 2013
As the last day of August sets in tomorrow, I had to post some pics of our garden this year.  Can hardly believe that Fall is amongst us...
When Brooke was out riding her bike, she was excited to find leaves that had fallen off the trees that she brought back to show me, a true sign that Fall is just around the corner!

Sleep on, sleep away our little princess diva~

Brooklynne doesn't exactly have a bedroom right now, her bed sits upstairs in the hall in a little sitting area all out in the open...poor little girl. The funny thing is that she is so proud of her area, she thinks it's so cool and she's always excited to show all of her friends. She still has her clothes and dresser then some of her toys in Matt and my closet (she had her bed in there when she was a baby for the longest time since our closet is ginormous and a total waste of space, I mean how many clothes does one person need?) After a couple of years, Matt got tired of Brooklynne in our closet so we decided it was time to move her to Ellie's room which both Brooke and Ellie were SO EXCITED about. Well, the excitement for Ellie was short lived when she found her little sister constantly getting into her things and messing up her bedroom so Ellie moved Brooke's bed to Spencer and Josh's room (which is plenty big enough for the three of them, being the bonus room that the boys share) but they got tired of her in their room as well since they complained that she kept them up at night...so into the hall she went until we figured out a better solution.  Five, maybe six? months later and she is still in the hallway. Many of her toys along with her play house accumulated in the game room downstairs that we thought we might turn into a bedroom until Matt decided to turn it into his office. So she still has toys in Matt's office in the closet under the stairs, then some on the book shelves next to her bed in the hall way and some in our closet. When the kids go back to school that's one of my projects, to figure out a better solution to Brooke's bed, and her stuff/madness.  In the mean time, Summer time at our home is pretty laid back, that's what summer time is for right?  The kids have fun playing with each other in the evenings, it's fun for me as a mom to see them as siblings when the friends are away...enjoying each other and making memories. The kids pretty much determine their own bed time including Brooke, she thinks she's one of the big kids. She goes to bed when she's tired and good and tired to sleep through the hall lights being turned off and on, the kids being loud and the bathroom being used right next to her parked bed in the hallway. The girls took this picture of Brooke sleeping the other night, all decked out in her girly stuff.  I guess the shades are so the hall light won't affect her beauty sleep....
