Monday October 31st
Brooke was Minnie, Josh a Pirate, Ellie was Dorthy
Bre was A Witch, Spencer was a Skeleton Motorcycle Man.
Poor Spencer has a molar coming in, his mouth and tooth were so sore- he had a hard time enjoying himself until he was able to get some more pain medicine. I actually had to break what I was doing in set up for a few hours in the middle of the day to get him into the dentist. I thought for sure he had a filling that was infected, he had been in so much pain over the week end, tears and all and Spencer is a tough guy. He actually woke up with a swollen face and jaw line this morning, it looked like he had gotten his wisdom teeth pulled. As a baby I remember he had a hard time breaking teeth in as well, when other of our babies not much of a big deal breaking teeth in. Until the tooth comes in, things should be interesting for him- it's so hard for him to eat, we've been doing a lot of smoothies.
Our new Bishop as of last Sunday Bishop Jacobsen or rather a Mad Scientist?
Our ward had their Halloween Party on Halloween this year (apparently that is a tradition for the Sumner ward, having it on the actual day of Halloween I hear.) The primary was in charge of it this year, the date was already set before I became the Primary President. I did try to change it but the other wards that meet in our building in our stake had already set their dates and the calendar was full so Halloween it was as a fun Family Home Evening event on a Monday night at the church. It was a great success and a lot of fun, of course a lot of work for the primary presidency but it was worth it. We had hot dogs, chili or a chili cheese dogs and cornbread for dinner and cupcakes for dessert (with the stipulation that they had to win their cupcake at the cup cake walk.) After dinner we had carnival games, the pumpkin rings toss, bean bag toss, pumpkin bowling, mini golf, fish pond and then of course the cup cake walk. We also had some photo opportunities with a young woman from our ward for her value project taking the photos. We had done up some cute wooden photo back drops, a pumpkin, candy corn and scarecrow that had the area where you put your head through for a pic...I failed to capture any pictures of these though. Then we had a costume contest (may I mention, there were so many fabulous costumes, so creative our ward is!) A pre-carved pumpkin carving contest and an adult pie eating contest. It was all great fun and it made for a festive Halloween. No relaxing yet though...full speed ahead with the primary program and practices for next Sunday!
