June 1st, 2019
The Friday before Memorial Weekend, it was "Back to The Future Dress Day" for spirit week for Booke and she went as an 80's chic complete with the neon, jean skirt, jean jacket, gummy bracelets, side pony tail, blue eyeshadow, hot pink lip stick, leg warmers and ked-like shoes (honestly we threw it all together in 15 min before school started but you'd never know lol,) she looked pretty hip! Memorial Day weekend was kind of a "Off in all Direction Event" for our fam this year. The older girls went with Grandma Jackson and all their older girls cousins their age and were off to Arizona to their cousin Zoeie's High School Graduation. They had a fun weekend full of memories to say the least! Dad took the boys to Chelan for a guys weekend out full of golfing, swimming, a bit of bbqing, the Lakeside Drive In, bowling, hoteling and all the added perks of the Lake (minus the sunshine since luck wouldn't have it and the weather was rainy most of the weekend minus Monday when they went to the Water Park. Mom and the little girls had a lower-key girls weekend home where we did some pampering with facials and nails, movie nights in, burgers and fires night, scrap-booking and Brooklynne's school Cheetah project, we hit the park, made cookies, played games, stayed up late, and slept in...it was nice! Monday Memorial Day we went to visit Grandma Cordle with some treats and Red/White/Blue items to thank her and in memory of Gpa Cordle for serving in the air force. We found out that he was just about ready for military retirement (with actual papers in hand to turn in) when the President (maybe she said Truman?) called for all active air force military members stay in and serve for another year or maybe it was two for war time. When his papers were then ripped up and he was due to serve longer, everything happens for a reason though. Grandma's assisted living center was all decorated for Memorial Day and everything looked so festive and patriotic, she did mention at our visit that she is ready to go be with grandpa which is understandable, I'm sure she misses him a ton! I guess she had went to visit the doctor with some health issues with her heart, shoulder, neck and chest earlier the past week but after tests apparently she said the doc informed her that it wasn't her time to go yet. She is obviously still here for a reason. She was working on her life history when we stopped by and had quite a bit of information, pictures and clippings in it, her mind and memory of the past is quite amazing! Saydee had her preschool field trip to the Windmill Gardens nursery last week where we went on a tour to learn more about flower, plants and trees and then we went to the park to let go of their butterflies that the kids had watched grow from caterpillars to cocoons to butterflies with the circle of life. She had a lot of fun with it despite the fact that true to Saydee character she fell and hurt herself skinning up both knees and elbows once again (yeh super accident prone). Well its already June 2nd today, ready or not here we come- bring on the graduations, weddings, parties, end of the school year traditions and summer time fun...
